2003-04 Model Events
BOW in the City -
This outdoor skills workshop was aimed at inner city women.
STEP OUTSIDE and Become a Youth
Hunter and Shooter - This event provided training, education,
and future participation through leagues and clubs to youth.
STEP OUTSIDE Mentoring for Physically
Disabled Women - This hunt provided physically disabled
women the opportunity to participate in their first hunting experience
with a mentor.
Future Fisherman Foundation
Invites Others to STEP OUTSIDE - This partner event
offered several different programs which provided opportunities for
youth to participate in fishing, providing adults with an opportunity
to both participate and become instructors, and physical education
teachers held six classes of fly-fishing instruction followed by
an off-site river trip.
Leaving Barriers Behind with
STEP OUTSIDE - In partnership with a local rehabilitation
hospital, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Resources incorporated shooting
sports, hunting and fishing into physical and occupation therapy
sessions.
NADA invites you to STEP OUTSIDE
and learn about archery - This archery event was held
in partnership with local park and archery groups.
STEP OUTSIDE Youth Pheasant Hunt - Designed as a reward
for academic achievement and positive social behavior, this hunt challenged
inner city youth to be their best.
STEP OUTSIDE and Take a Kid Hunting - This event was
designed to interest youth and families in hunting and target shooting
through a skill based workshop.
STEP OUTSIDE and Hunt on National Wildlife Refuge -
Designed to provide metro youth an educational introduction to hunting
and wildlife management, this event was conducted on a National Wildlife
Refuge.
New Jersey Sportsmen Clubs and Retailers Invite newcomers to
STEP OUTSIDE - This unique program enlisted the partnerships
of local clubs and retailers to encourage active outdoor sports enthusiasts
to invite newcomers.
STEP OUTSIDE “Fun of A Gun” Mobile Airgun Range -
This project was designed to create a mobile airgun range that brings
the range to those who might not otherwise be motivated to try the shooting
sports.
2002-03 Model Events
Mentoring
Hunters of All Abilities – Deer Hunt — This
event was planned to provide an opportunity for the disabled to STEP OUTSIDE.
STEP OUTSIDE
- Discover — This event was planned to encourage the youth of
Alabama to STEP OUTSIDE.
Fin and
Feather Promotional Event – Media Event — This event was
planned to provide an opportunity for the media to become acquainted with
STEP OUTSIDE activities.
STEP OUTSIDE
and Duck Hunt — This event was planned to encourage newcomers
as well as experienced participants to the sport of waterfowling. The
event was not targeted to a specific age group or organization.
Paralyzed Veterans
Fun Shoot — For this event, disabled people were encouraged
to come out and have fun while being introduced to shotgun clay target
sports.
Teaching Kentucky’s
Teachers — This event was specifically conducted to provide
NADA-Level 1 Archery Instructor certification to middle school physical
education teachers who are now teaching archery as an approved study component
to thousands of Kentucky middle and high school students.
STEP OUTSIDE Hunting
Mentor Weekend — The event was planned to provide an opportunity
for mentor and youth to learn hunting skills together.
Woodie Camp
— This event is a week-long waterfowl camp designed to address the
lack of outdoor opportunities for young people.
STEP
OUTSIDE with the Naperville Sportsman’s Club — This event
was planned with one focus – to attract as many family units as
possible from the community and those of adjacent communities.
Youth Outdoor Skills Day at the Range —
This event targeted metro youth to provide them a safe, ethical, responsible and educational introducation to the hunting and shooting sports.
STEP OUTSIDE
for a Waterfowl Adventure — This event was planned to introduce
beginner youth to the hunting of waterfowl.
